Steam injection operation in FWG

Addition of steam through steam injection system is done, if the JCW heat is not sufficient of boiling water in FWG.
The steam is injected into closed water circuit (steam injection system is closed water/steam system)
and the water circulates in the evaporator is heated by the condensation of steam.

Procedure:
Starting procedure is to be done as required.
HT fresh water system evaporator by-pass full open and shut the inlet and outlet valves of HT fresh water to evaporator.
Open steam heating valve and steam heating fresh water priming valves.
Once the fresh water filled, close the priming valve.
Open the steam supply valve to steam injector.
Open the fresh water heating to the evaporator.
To control the rate of evaporation, adjust the steam supply.
   
        *Check the pressure relief valve is working properly.
