Induction Motor Principle

Induction motor is an asynchronous AC motor in which supply is given to the stator and the rotor gets induced emf.
Principle
When multi phase supply is fed on the stator, it creates a rotating magnetic field. This induces an EMF in the rotor is closed, a current passes through the rotor winding which creates a magnetic field.
dorota magnetic field will act in such a manner so as to oppose the main magnetic field and hence the rotor will try to catch upon follow the rotating stator magnetic field. Finally the rotor will obtain a constant speed.
