Smoke tube boilers are used where steam demand is low. Water tubeboilers are used where steam demand is high.
Quality of water is not considered much. In this type of boiler the quality of water much maintained and required water treatment.
Steam storage capacity is more and this boiler is known as timed boiler. Capacity of steam holding is lesser, so its require continous operation.
