What is cavitation and how it occurs in propeller?

When a propeller turns quickly, an area of low pressure is created on blades. This lowering of pressure causes the water to boil without heating up and produces bubbles of steam, this is called cavitation.

Occurs :
The sudden increase in the speed of propeller can cause the formation of bubbles. as the bubbles part they make more noise. Actually the bubble that formed are not filled with air but with the steam. The steam is generated due to saltwater boiling.
As we know the water boiling temperature is 100°c but at different pressure can make the water to boil at different temperature.
For example, if you increase the pressure as in pressure cooker for instance than the boiling point of the water increases hence the cooking is more efficient. however we know that reduced pressures can boil the water at lower temperature.
